In 2013, the International Conference on Advance Information Systems Engineering (CAiSE) turns 25. Initially launched in 1989, for all these years the conference has provided a broad forum for researchers working in the area of Information Systems Engineering. To reflect on the work done so far and to examine prospects for future work, the CAiSE Steering Committee decided to present a selection of seminal papers published for the conference during these years and to ask their authors, all prominent researchers in the field, to comment on their work and how it has developed over the years. The scope of the papers selected covers a broad range of topics related to modeling and designing inform...
Research and Evidence in Software Engineering: From Empirical Studies to Open Source Artifacts introduces advanced software engineering to software engineers, scientists, postdoctoral researchers, academicians, software consultants, management executives, doctoral students, and advanced level postgraduate computer science students. This book contains research articles addressing numerous software engineering research challenges associated with various software development-related activities, including programming, testing, measurements, human factors (social software engineering), specification, quality, program analysis, software project management, and more. It provides relevant theoretica...
We can now say that it is really a big pleasure for us to welcome all of you to the proceedings of CAiSE 2005 which was held in Porto.
Over the last few years Web Engineering has begun to gain mainstream acc- tance within the software engineering, IT and related disciplines. In particular, both researchers and practitioners are increasingly recognizing the unique c- racteristics of Web systems, and what these characteristicsimply in terms of the approaches we take to Web systems development and deployment in practice. A scan of the publications in related conference proceedings and journals highlights the diversity of the discipline areas which contribute to both the ri- ness and the complexity of Web Engineering. The 5th International Conference on Web Engineering (ICWE2005), held in Sydney, Australia, extends the traditio...
This book contains the proceedings of the five high-quality workshops organized at the Second European Conference on Service-Oriented and Cloud Computing, ESOCC 2013, held in Malaga, Spain, in September 2013. The workshops are: Cloud for IoT (CLIoT 2013), CLOUd Storage Optimization (CLOUSO 2013), 12th International Workshop on Foundations of Coordination Languages and Self-Adaptive Systems (FOCLASA 2013), First Workshop on Mobile Cloud and Social Perspectives (MoCSoP 2013), and the 3rd International Workshop on Adaptive Services for the Future Internet (WAS4FI 2013). The 29 papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 51 submissions. They focus on specific topics in service-oriented and cloud computing domains: cloud environments, smart connectivity, context-aware computation, cloud for IoT, storage clouds, coordination languages, formal approaches to modeling and reasoning, self-systems, services for mobile devices, wireless sensor networks.
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 9th International Conference on Service-Oriented Computing, ICSOC 2011, held in Paphos, Cyprus, in December 2011. The 54 revised papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 184 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on business process modeling, quality of service, formal methods, XaaS computing, service discovery, service security and trust, service runtime infrastructures and service applications.
The two-volume Proceedings set CCIS 1675 and 1676 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the Second International Conference, ARTIIS 2022, held in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, during September 12–15, 2022. The 72 papers included in these proceedings were carefully reviewed and selected from 191 submissions. These papers were categorized into 2 technical tracks, i.e., Sustainability and Ethics, Security, and Privacy.
This book constitutes the revised selected papers of the scientific satellite events that were held in conjunction with the 15th International Conference on Service-Oriented Computing, ICSOC 2017, held in Málaga, Spain, in November 2017. The ICSOC 2017 workshop track consisted of three workshops on a wide range of topics that fall into the general area of service computing: ASOCA 2017: The Second Workshop on Adaptive Service-Oriented and Cloud Applications ISyCC 2016: The Second Workshop on IoT Systems Provisioning and Management in Cloud Computing WESOACS 2017: The 13th International Workshop on Engineering Service-Oriented Applications and Cloud Services
This volume constitutes the refereed proceedings of the Confederated International Conferences: Cooperative Information Systems, CoopIS 2016, Ontologies, Databases, and Applications of Semantics, ODBASE 2016, and Cloud and Trusted Computing, C&TC, held as part of OTM 2016 in October 2016 in Rhodes, Greece. The 45 full papers presented together with 16 short papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 133 submissions. The OTM program every year covers data and Web semantics, distributed objects, Web services, databases, information systems, enterprise workow and collaboration, ubiquity, interoperability, mobility, grid and high-performance computing.
This book constitutes the proceedings of the 17th International Conference on Service-Oriented Computing, ICSOC 2019, held in Toulouse, France, in October 2019. The 28 full and 12 short papers presented together with 7 poster and 2 invited papers in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 181 submissions. The papers have been organized in the following topical sections: Service Engineering; Run-time Service Operations and Management; Services and Data; Services in the Cloud; Services on the Internet of Things; Services in Organizations, Business and Society; and Services at the Edge.
