Embrace the Journey

Becky Murray is someone who sees needs and responds. Whether it's street children in Pakistan, orphans in Kenya or girls at risk of human trafficking across the world, she is there, when these kids need someone the most; someone who is an extension of Christ at work. Her charity, OneByOne has grown into such an incredible organisation that is reaching thousands of lives. As you read this book you will quickly discover there is more to it than what we so easily call destiny. You will feel the providence of God in each word and story. Becky's life was changed by a preposition, by the word 'INTO'. . . she dared to go (into) the world and today children by the thousands are benefitting from her obedience.People of providence have a window of opportunity that they must step through and this is exactly what has taken place in Becky Murray's life. She has crawled into the eyes of Jesus and seen the abandoned, the broken and the defenceless as He would see them. She is an answer to prayer for many and her boldness takes her into places others would never dare to go. Her life is a challenge to those who feel the call to mission on their life.

With thousands of known suicides taking place in the United States each year, it is very possible you have already been touched. In Healing the Wound from My Daughter's Suicide, author Lois Severson shares the true story of how her family was deeply affected by the tragedy of suicide. She narrates the story of the suicide of her twenty-six-year-old daughter Patty in June of 2005. Severson recalls a personal journey through the grief process from the perspective of the mother, father, and sister of the victim. She also includes Patty's suicide letter and selected diary entries and addresses the subject of mental illness and its role in suicides. Raw and emotional, Healing the Wound from My Daughter's Suicide provides keen insight into family dynamics following the suicide of a loved one. It shows how one family navigated the grief and healing process and found comfort through help from their community, from within the family, and through their faith in God.

War Stories

Plains Indian biographic rock art can be “read” by those knowledgeable in its lexicon. Presented is a lexicon of imagery, conventions, and symbols used by Plains Indians to communicate their warfare and social narratives. The reader is introduced to Plains Indian “warrior” art in all media, biographic art as picture writing is explained, and the lexicon is described, providing a pictographic “dictionary,” and explains conventions and connotations. Finally, it illustrates four key examples of how these narratives are read by the observer. Familiarity with the lexicon will enable interested scholars and laypersons to understand what are otherwise enigmatic rock art drawings found from Calgary, Alberta through ten U.S. states, and into the Mexican state of Coahuila.
