Metrics for Project Control - The Atomic Watermelon
A watermelon seems green on the outside but it is red on the inside. As well as in reports, there are some indicators that are presented as if they were green due to flaws made in metrics calculation or wrong calculation function. As a result, Project Monitoring is damaged and Control is not activated to solve a problem, but, way more than a problem, a red light means a cry for help, it means a monitoring alert sent so a control action can be taken. Such a logic sequence in first of all monitoring and controlling items is not always followed and among other issues, traffic light indicators are commonly applied without the need of a precision measure. These are the atomic watermelons in projects and this book is an invitation for us to think about the way the current processing structuring organization is made in the PMBOK® Guide. We propose changes in it. You will learn about metrics and its meanings through a mix of equations and practical examples that may assist in enabling a reliable monitoring system besides a free projects´ control when atomic watermelons come up.
A ironia como recurso humorístico nas tirinhas de Mafalda
Para a maioria das pessoas, a ironia não passa de uma camuflagem no discurso para omitir outro, e outros ainda a qualificam como uma figura de linguagem complexa. Contudo, ela tem uma função muito mais significativa na perspectiva discursiva. No espaço discursivo, a ironia comunga do trágico e do cômico e, a partir dos sinais contextuais da enunciação, promove uma cumplicidade entre enunciador e enunciatário, fazendo com que este busque compreender o que aquele propôs em segundo plano no enunciado. Neste estudo, buscamos descobrir um pouco mais sobre a relação imbricada da ironia e do humor na construção discursiva de um texto que todo professor de Língua Portuguesa conhece bem: as tirinhas da Mafalda.
Pluricentricity
The "one-nation-one-language" assumption is as unrealistic as the well-known Chomskyan ideal of a homogeneous speech community. Convocamos as/os leitoras/es a “desler, tresler, contraler e enlear-se” (n)os variados gestos de interpretação materializados nos artigos aqui compilados, os quais foram apresentados no IX Seminário de Estudos em Análise do Discurso (SEAD), que teve como tema geral A Análise do Discurso e suas condições de produção: 1969-2019. O tema surgiu, por um lado, como uma forma de marcar os 50 anos do surgimento da teoria, mostrando o legado de Michel Pêcheux, sua atualidade e seu papel na consolidação da AD no Brasil, e, por outro, como uma maneira de indicar que a noção de condições de produção tem um lugar de centralidade nos estudos discursivos, mediante a qual podem ser percebidas as relações de forças que constituem toda e qualquer prática discursiva.
Portuguese grammar
Spoken by millions of people on four continents, Portuguese remains a lesser studied language. To help improve the linguistic understanding of this pluricentric language, the present volume brings together ten studies about different grammatical phenomena observed in Portuguese varieties – from suffixation to intercalated temporal clauses and non-concatenative verbal inflection, among other topics. Focusing on two main axes – usage and cognition –, these studies draw on the theoretical frameworks of Functional Linguistics and Cognitive Linguistics, but build a cohesive whole insofar as they all offer usage-based language approaches. By presenting an overview of recent research on Portuguese and its varieties, the book paves the way for the inclusion of Portuguese in the set of Neo-Latin languages best known to the general public.
