Resource Management for Sustainable Agriculture
In this book, papers pertaining to resource management for sustainable agricultural development are presented in four parts divided into ten chapters. Part I discusses the usage of water and waste management for sustainable agricultural development including aspects like irrigation management to prevent soil and ground water salinization, production of solid fuel from oil palm waste, sustainable ecomaterials and biorefinery from agroindustrial waste, nonpoint pollution from agriculture and livestock activities on surface water. Part II discusses sustainable management of dryland resources especially carbon sequestration under changing climate scenario. Part III deals with efficient nutrient management for sustainable crop productivity in different agro-climatic conditions, soil quality and productivity improvement under rainfed conditions. Part IV throws light upon effect of conservation tillage on soil properties and impact of agricultural traffic and tillage on soil properties.

This book investigates the current and future state of freshwater and the global drive to achieve the UN sustainability goal. It first explores the major barriers to achieving the goal and then examines some of the programs water managers are adopting to overcome those barriers. These programs include finding new ways to supplement existing water supplies, and greater acceptance of alternative supplies, such as recycled waste water and desalination; green infrastructures, and rain and storm water harvesting. Water Supply and Water Scarcity
This Book includes selected papers that has been published in the Water journal Special Issue (SI) on Water Supply and Water Scarcity. Moreover, an overview of the SI is included. The papers selected for publication in the SI include review and research papers on water history, on water management issues under water scarcity regimes, on rainwater harvesting, on water quality and degradation, and on climatic variability impacts on water resources.
