This book compiles all current information on the different types of functionalization of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and graphene, both covalent and non-covalent. The book starts with a general overview of the synthesis, characterization and application of functionalized CNTs and graphene. Special attention is dedicated to the characterization of functionalized materials, a topic rarely addressed on the literature. The authors provide a comparison between the functionalization of these two types of carbon materials.

O enredo da obra Uma Aventura dentro de Mim se desenvolve a partir do diálogo entre dois probióticos personificados, Lactovô e Lactoneto, cujo nomes são inspirados nos Lactobacillus, um gênero de bactérias probióticas muito presente no intestino. Eles habitam o intestino de Pedro, um menino que morava numa pequena cidade, possuindo alimentação e hábitos de vida saudáveis, mas que depois precisou se mudar para uma metrópole, alterando todos os seus hábitos – o que mudou totalmente a realidade de seu intestino e de sua saúde. This books is the product of research conducted in the Brazilian Border with Bolívia in 2013, where a migrant temporary shelter hosted, under a humanitarian visa, hundreds of Haitians that had fled several stages of human insecurity back in their homeland. In order to survive and with the dream of leaving soon, migrants strategise their relationships and harnest social navigation skills. This fieldwork was part of the Master of Social and Cultural Anthropology programa at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, for which the author was granted a VU Scholarship.
