Pharmaceutical Residues in Freshwater: Hazards and Policy Responses
This report calls for a better understanding of the effects of pharmaceutical residues in the environment, greater international collaboration and accountability distribution, and policy actions to prevent and remedy emerging concerns. Laboratory and field tests show traces of oral contraceptives causing the feminisation of fish and amphibians, and residues of psychiatric drugs altering fish behaviour. Antimicrobial resistance, linked to the overuse of antibiotics, has rapidly escalated into a global health crisis. Unless adequate measures are taken to manage the risks, pharmaceutical residues will increasingly be released into the environment as ageing populations, advances in healthcare, and intensification of meat and fish production spur the demand for pharmaceuticals worldwide. The report outlines a collective, life‑cycle approach to managing pharmaceuticals in the environment. A policy mix of source‑directed, use‑orientated and end‑of‑pipe measures, involving several policy sectors, can help to improve health and protect the environment.
A Critical Approach to International Water Management Trends
This edited volume provides a critical discussion of particular trends that are widely recognised to influence water management by comparing them with what is actually happening in the field. Among others, these trends include water security, adaptive or integrative management, and the water-energy-food nexus, which are often presented as essential means to reaching more sustainable and resilient water use. However, the extent to which these trends have managed to structure concrete practices in water management remains uncertain. Clark
Clark explores a community with a history dating from 1864, the height of the Civil War. Accessed by Exit 135 on the Garden State Parkway, Clark was originally the Fifth Ward of Rahway until a group of disgruntled farmers, led by founding fathers Robert A. Russell, William Bloodgood, William H. Enders, Smith Woodruff, and Judge Hugh H. Bowne, declared its independence and established a self-governing township. The men named the town for a local American patriot and signer of the Declaration of Independence, Abraham Clark. The vintage photographs included here represent Clark's history from its days as a rural farm town of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries to its current status as a thriving suburban community.

Clark Revisited
Clark Revisited takes a second look at the past of a community whose humble beginnings can be traced back to the height of the Civil War. Located in Central New Jersey, the township of Clark began as a quiet agricultural community. But with the 20th century came many changes, and the development of the Garden State Parkway became a catalyst for Clark's transition into a community with housing developments, businesses, and a renewed image. These changes can be largely attributed to land developers, as well as the leadership of mayors who have served Clark over the last half of the century. New Jersey Monthly magazine has credited Clark as one of the best places to live in New Jersey. What was once rural farmland has grown into a thriving, suburban community that continues to develop both socially and economically.

Inclusive sustainable landscape management in West and Central Africa
The report creates contexts for a systemic understanding of the CGIAR Transforming agric-food system (TAFS-WCA) initiative starting with work package (WP) 3 and expanding the causality effects across the other WPs of the Initiative. The main focus of WP3 is inclusive landscape management, whereby access to and proper use of land and water resources is a prerequisite to building a healthy, productive environment for resilient agri-food systems and livelihoods. Mapping synergies with other Work Packages ensure that respective contributions are integrated and impactful.
