Over the last decade, Method Engineering, defined as the engineering discipline to design, construct and adapt methods, including supportive tools, has emerged as the research and application area for using methods for systems development. This book contains the papers from the IFIP Working Group 8.1 conference on Situational Method Engineering.
This volume features a collection of papers on emerging concepts, significant insights, novel approaches and ideas in information systems research. It examines advances in information systems development in general, and their impact on the development of new methods, tools and management. The book contains invited papers selected from the 27th International Conference on Information Systems Development (ISD) held in Lund, Sweden, August 22 - 24, 2018. The revised and expanded papers present research that focuses on methods, tools and management in information systems development. These issues are significant as they provide the basis for organizations to identify new markets, support innovative technology deployment, and enable mobile applications to detect, sense, interpret and respond to the environment.
The two-volume Advances in Information Systems Development: Bridging the Gap between Academia and Industry constitutes the collected proceedings of the Fourteenth International Conference on Information Systems Development: Methods and Tools, Theory and Practice – ISD’2005 Conference. The focus of these volumes is to examine the exchange of ideas between academia and industry and aims to explore new solutions. The proceedings follow the seven conference tracks highlighted at the Conference: Co-design of Business and IT; Communication and Methods; Human Values of Information Technology; Service Development and IT; Requirements Engineering in the IS Life-Cycle; Semantic Web Approaches and Applications; and Management and IT.
This volume constitutes the published proceedings of the 17th International Conference on Information Systems Development. They present the latest and greatest concepts, approaches, and techniques of systems development - a notoriously transitional field.
This is the first book to focus on the use of nonlinear analysis and synthesis techniques for aircraft control. It is also the first book to address in detail closed-loop control problems for aircraft "on-ground" – i.e. speed and directional control of aircraft before take-off and after touch down. The book will be of interest to engineers, researchers, and students in control engineering, and especially aircraft control.
While previously available methodologies for software – like those published in the early days of object technology – claimed to be appropriate for every conceivable project, situational method engineering (SME) acknowledges that most projects typically have individual characteristics and situations. Thus, finding the most effective methodology for a particular project needs specific tailoring to that situation. Such a tailored software development methodology needs to take into account all the bits and pieces needed for an organization to develop software, including the software process, the input and output work products, the people involved, the languages used to describe requirements...
th CAiSE 2004 was the 16 in the series of International Conferences on Advanced Information Systems Engineering. In the year 2004 the conference was hosted by the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, Riga Technical University, Latvia. Since the late 1980s, the CAiSE conferences have provided a forum for the presentation and exchange of research results and practical experiences within the ?eld of Information Systems Engineering. The conference theme of CAiSE 2004 was Knowledge and Model Driven Information Systems Engineering for Networked Organizations. Modern businesses and IT systems are facing an ever more complex en- ronment characterized by openness, variety, and chan...
The work presented in this thesis focuses on epitaxial graphene on SiC as a platform for air quality sensors. Several approaches have been tested and evaluated to increase the sensitivity, selectivity, speed of response and stability of the sensors. The graphene surfaces have been functionalized, for example, with different metal oxide nanoparticles and nanolayers using hollow-cathode sputtering and pulsed laser deposition. The modified surfaces were investigated towards topography, integrity and chemical composition with characterization methods such as atomic force microscopy and Raman spectroscopy. Interaction energies between several analytes and nanoparticle-graphene-combinations were c...
