The monsoon over China is one of the major components of the global circulation patterns. A remarkable relationship exists between this part of the monsoon and other world regions. However, in western countries little is yet known about monsoons over China. This monograph provides a systematic and comprehensive description of the major aspects of monsoons over China. Special emphasis is put on fluctuations of the monsoon on various scales and the effects of the Tibetan Plateau on the monsoon. The book also contains useful historical information. For researchers in meteorology, hydrology, oceanography.
The adaptive immune resistance (AIR) mechanism refers to the various strategies employed by tumours to adapt and ultimately to overcome immune attack. The AIR mechanism was firstly identified in the selective induction of programmed cell death 1 ligand 1 (PDL1) by interferon gamma of tumors. The inhibition of adaptive immune resistance underlies the responses to PD-1 or PD-L1–blocking antibodies, and may have relevance for the development of other cancer immunotherapy strategies. Therefore, identifying specific AIR mechanisms is of great significance to develop novel drugs and enhance the efficacy of cancer treatment. In this research topic, we aim to generate a collection of articles that discuss the AIR mechanisms, the classification of AIRs, and the current and future cancer therapy strategies based on AIR. Of particular, these articles can focus on exploring the AIR mechanisms in different cancer types and further identify the association between AIR and tumour microenvironment (TME).

China Satellite Navigation Conference (CSNC) 2015 Proceedings presents selected research papers from CSNC2015, held during 13th-15th May in Xian, China. The theme of CSNC2015 is Opening-up, Connectivity and Win-win. These papers discuss the technologies and applications of the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), and the latest progress made in the China BeiDou System (BDS) especially. They are divided into 10 topics to match the corresponding sessions in CSNC2015, which broadly covered key topics in GNSS. Readers can learn about the BDS and keep abreast of the latest advances in GNSS techniques and applications. SUN Jiadong is the Chief Designer of the Compass/ BDS, and the academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS); LIU Jingnan is a professor at Wuhan University. FAN Shiwei is a researcher at China Satellite Navigation Office; LU Xiaochun is an academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).
This book deals with the behaviour of soft ground improved by some of the more common methods, including the installation of prefabricated vertical drains (PVDs), or the installation of soil-cement columns formed by deep mixing, or the preloading of soft ground by application of a vacuum pressure in addition to, or instead of, a surcharge loading. In particular, it describes the theories and the numerical modelling techniques that may be applied to these soft ground improvement schemes to estimate the immediate and time-dependent mechanical response of the in situ soil. Particular emphasis has been placed on methods that reliably predict ground deformations associated with ground improvement...
