Balinese Discourses on Music and Modernization
While many Western scholars have discussed the technical aspects of Balinese music or the traditional contexts for performance, little has been written in Western languages about Balinese discourses on their music. This dissertation seeks to understand the experience of music in Bali according to Balinese voices through an analysis of oral and written dialogues on music, mainly by musicians and dalangs (shadow play puppeteers) from the village of Sukawati, scholars, teachers, administrators and students from the Indonesian College of the Arts (STSI) in the City of Denpasar. The study examines the influence of modernization on the traditional arts and their role in society. A concentration on Balinese discourses enables individual performers and scholars to represent themselves to a greater extent than previously seen in ethnomusicological scholarship, making this study more of a critical discussion among equals than a Western interpretation of 'others'. This approach permits a rare view into contemporary Balinese conceptions and practices of music.

Hak Waris Anak di Luar Nikah dalam Putusan Mahkamah Konstitusi No. 46/PUU-VIII/2010
Penulisan buku ini merupakan hasil penelitian penulis untuk menyelesaikan jenjang pendidikan S2 di Sekolah Pascasarjana UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta dengan mengambil konsentrasi Agama dan Hukum. Adapun judul buku tersebut adalah “Hak Waris Anak di Luar Nikah dalam Putusan Mahkamah Konstitusi No.46/PUU-VIII/2010”. Maksud dari penulisan buku ini yaitu agar supaya mengetahui apakah anak di luar perkawinan mendapatkan harta warisan dari ayah biologisnya setelah ayah biologis tersebut meninggal. Selain itu, dalam rangka perlindungan anak yang terlahir di luar perkawinan, hakim dapat memberikan hak anak tersebut dengan ijtihad masing-masing. Pemberian tersebut merupakan bentuk kasih sayang anak, dan juga menjaga martabat anak yang terlahir dalam keadaan fitrah.

Survei membuktikan bahwa agama atau keyakinan adalah salah satu faktor paling krusial yang menyebabkan perpecahan dalam masyarakat. Sepanjang sejarah, berbagai jenis konflik biasanya dilatarbelakangi oleh keyakinan yang berbeda. Di kalangan umat Hindu pun, konflik internal karena perbedaan mantra, tata cara persembahyangan, ista-devata, atau bahkan perbedaan kecil lainnya bisa menyulut konflik yang berlarut-larut. Dalam skup inilah peran cendekiawan Hindu yang netral, mengayomi dan melindungi diperlukan. Cendekiawan Hindu hendaknya dapat berpikir luwes dan mampu mencari titik temu di antara berbagai warna dan rona Hindu. Dengan menggabungkan semua warna itu, Hindu akan menjadi jauh lebih indah dan cantik. Hindu tidak harus seragam. Jadikanlah ia tetap beragam namun senantiasa saling genggam.
