Barcsay Jenő (1900-1988) Barcsay Jenő a huszadik századi magyar művészet messze kimagasló alakja, hat évtizeden át erkölcsi és szakmai mércéje, közvetve és közvetlenül generációk meghatározó mestere. Életrajza szakmai életrajz, mert amióta tizenkilenc esztendős korában, 1919-ben elhagyta erdélyi szülőföldjét és a Képzőművészeti Főiskola növendéke lett, biográfiájának fordulatai és eseményei kizárólag pályafordulatok és a művészet történetének eseményei. Családot nem alapított, gyermekei nem voltak, privát életéről említésre méltót nem jegyeztek fel. Olyannyira csak a hivatásának élt, személyes históriája olyannyira egy, a közösségnek alkotó festő históriája, hogy a könyvvégi életrajzban sem találni egyebet, mint kiállítások, ösztöndíjak, megbízások és elismerések adatait.
