Pattern Recognition
It is both an honor and a pleasure to hold the 27th Annual Meeting of the German Association for Pattern Recognition, DAGM 2005, at the Vienna U- versity of Technology, Austria, organized by the Pattern Recognition and Image Processing (PRIP) Group. We received 122 contributions of which we were able to accept 29 as oral presentations and 31 as posters. Each paper received three reviews, upon which decisions were made based on correctness, presentation, technical depth, scienti?c signi?cance and originality. Pattern Recognition
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 40th German Conference on Pattern Recognition, GCPR 2018, held in Stuttgart, Germany, in October 2018. The 48 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 118 submissions. The German Conference on Pattern Recognition is the annual symposium of the German Association for Pattern Recognition (DAGM). It is the national venue for recent advances in image processing, pattern recognition, and computer vision and it follows the long tradition of the DAGM conference series, which has been renamed to GCPR in 2013 to reflect its increasing internationalization. In 2018 in Stuttgart, the conference series celebrated its 40th anniversary.

Scale Space and Variational Methods in Computer Vision
This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-conference proceedings of the Third International Conference on Scale Space Methods and Variational Methods in Computer Vision, SSVM 2011, held in Ein-Gedi, Israel in May/June 2011. Medical Image Computing and Computer-Assisted Intervention -- MICCAI 2005
The two-volume set LNCS 3749 and LNCS 3750 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 8th International Conference on Medical Image Computing and Computer-Assisted Intervention, MICCAI 2005, held in Palm Springs, CA, USA, in October 2005. Based on rigorous peer reviews the program committee selected 237 carefully revised full papers from 632 submissions for presentation in two volumes. Dynamic 3D Imaging
3D imaging sensors have been investigated for several decades. Recently, - provements on classical approaches such as stereo vision and structured light on the one hand, and novel time-of-?ight (ToF) techniques on the other hand have emerged, leading to 3D vision systems with radically improvedcharacter- tics. Presently, these techniques make full-range 3D data available at interactive frame rates, and thus open the path toward a much broader application of 3D vision systems.
