Contains an edited collection of papers by experts from all disciplines of chaos which are the result of the International Workshop on Applications of Chaos, sponsored by the Electric Power Research Institute. Focusing on the actual and potential methodologies of the latest investigations in chaos dynamics, topics presented here run the gamut from the dynamics of electrocardiograph information and the instability of conveyor belts to the time series modeling and control of chaos.
Welcome to the proceedings of the 2010 International Conference on Future Gene- tion Communication and Networking (FGCN 2010) – one of the partnering events of the Second International Mega-Conference on Future Generation Information Te- nology (FGIT 2010). FGCN brings together researchers from academia and industry as well as practit- ners to share ideas, problems and solutions relating to the multifaceted aspects of communication and networking, including their links to computational sciences, mathematics and information technology. In total, 1,630 papers were submitted to FGIT 2010 from 30 countries, which - cludes 228 papers submitted to the FGCN 2010 Regular Sessions. The submitted pa...

Contains the names of the members of the diplomatic staffs of all foreign missions to the U.S. and their spouses, listed in alphabetical order by country. Members of the diplomatic staff are the members of the staff of the mission having diplomatic rank. The report also includes a chronological list of national holidays around the world; a list of diplomats in order of precedence and date of presentation of credentials; and web site and e-mail addresses of embassies.
Tenth in a series of annual reports comparing business regulation in 185 economies, Doing Business 2013 measures regulations affecting 11 areas of everyday business activity: starting a business, dealing with construction permits, getting electricity, registering property, getting credit, protecting investors, paying taxes, trading across borders, enforcing contracts, closing a business, and employing workers. The report updates all indicators as of June 1, 2012, ranks economies on their overall “ease of doing business”, and analyzes reforms to business regulation – identifying which economies are strengthening their business environment the most. The Doing Business reports illustrate ...
This book is an introduction to the use of machine learning and data-driven approaches in fluid simulation and animation, as an alternative to traditional modeling techniques based on partial differential equations and numerical methods – and at a lower computational cost. This work starts with a brief review of computability theory, aimed to convince the reader – more specifically, researchers of more traditional areas of mathematical modeling – about the power of neural computing in fluid animations. In these initial chapters, fluid modeling through Navier-Stokes equations and numerical methods are also discussed. The following chapters explore the advantages of the neural networks approach and show the building blocks of neural networks for fluid simulation. They cover aspects related to training data, data augmentation, and testing. The volume completes with two case studies, one involving Lagrangian simulation of fluids using convolutional neural networks and the other using Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) approaches.
