Problem-Based Learning: A Didactic Strategy in the Teaching of System Simulation
This book describes and outlines the theoretical foundations of system simulation in teaching, and as a practical contribution to teaching-and-learning models. It presents various methodologies used in teaching, the goal being to solve real-life problems by creating simulation models and probability distributions that allow correlations to be drawn between a real model and a simulated model. Moreover, the book demonstrates the role of simulation in decision-making processes connected to teaching and learning.

Reforma educativa ¿Qué estamos transformando? Debate informado
El debate en la Flacso México que se realizó por parte de los expertos en el tema sobre la reciente reforma educativa, ha hecho visible que se trata de una reforma que, además de imbricar aspectos técnicos y políticos, ha dado un lugar estratégico a la Ley General del Servicio Profesional Docente. Estas decisiones se explican porque la apuesta gubernamental consiste en detonar cambios en la calidad educativa a través de la ruta aparentemente técnica de la profesionalización docente. Sin embargo, los análisis aquí reunidos muestran que tales decisiones entran en tensión con los beneficios políticos ganados por el magisterio desde tiempo atrás, que un replanteamiento laboral no significa ni asegura un cambio en la calidad educativa, y que el gran reto consiste en desatar el nudo de una reforma que ha tomado como sus ejes el control y la centralización encubiertos de evaluación, pero sin poner en riesgo la gobernabilidad del sistema educativo.

How does one learn how to teach? - Through experiences analyzed in this book, in the countries of the OECD as much as in Latin America, and in spite of the great heterogeneity of contexts, a series of factors can be identified that act positively in the development of professional education. The educational policies of each country should identify objectives and orientations adapted to their own circumstances. Good policies are needed in order that development of professional education ensures the competencies that teachers and professors will require along their extensive professional trajectory. Society needs good teachers and professors whose professional practice responds to professional standards of quality, and that they comply in the first place with a basic commitment: that of respecting the right of students to learn.
