Responsible for countless works that have entered the collective imagination, Koons regards "shine" as a key feature of his artwork--from the postmodern reinvention of the readymade to works in perfectly polished metal that resemble inflatable toys. The exhibition will also provide a unique opportunity to celebrate the outstanding cultural and intellectual era that was marked by the Council of Trent and its Counter-Reformation, and by the figure of Francesco I de Medici, one of the most outstanding figures in the history of court patronage of the arts in Europe.
