Digitising Early Childhood
Focusing on the digital lives of children aged eight and under, and paying attention to their parents and educators, this book showcases research findings from the UK, Denmark, Turkey, Indonesia and Australia. The authors’ disciplinary backgrounds are as diverse as their cultural contexts, and the volume brings together insights from education, media studies, sociology, cultural studies, physiotherapy, and communication studies. Covering both positive and negative perspectives, it contributes to existing research on young children’s online interactions. This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed proceedings of the 2nd International Conference on Social Sciences, ICONESS 2023, held in Purwokerto, Indonesia, in 22-23 July 2023. ICSSED 2020
The theme of the conference is "Reconstructing Morals, Education, and Social Sciences for Achieving Sustainable Development Goals". This theme was formulated due to several considerations. First, the symptoms of moral decline that have the potential to destroy the nation. Morals guide humanity towards truth and civilization. The phenomenon of the dehumanization process in the industrial era that pushed people to be part of abstract societies tends to ignore humanity. The education process as a humanitarian system is increasingly marginalized, especially during discussions about the industrial revolution 4.0 and Society 5.0. The conference placed six sub-themes for speakers and participants to share ideas, namely: Social Sciences and Laws, History and Cultural Studies, Interdisciplinary Studies, Morals and Humanities, Policy, Politics, and Communication, Education. The committee has received 195 abstracts from prospective speakers. However, there are only 80 abstracts that are eligible to be presented at this conference.
Indonesian Private International Law
This book is the leading reference on Indonesian private international law in English. The chapters systematically cover the whole of Indonesian private international law including commercial matters, family law, succession, cross-border insolvency, intellectual property, competition (antitrust), and environmental disputes. The chapters do not merely cover the traditional conflict of law areas of jurisdiction, applicable law (choice of law), and enforcement. The chapters also look into conflict of law questions arising in arbitration and assess Indonesian involvement in the harmonisation of private international law globally and regionally within ASEAN. Similarly to the other volumes in the Studies in Private International Law - Asia series, this book presents the Indonesian conflict of laws through a combination of common and civil law analytical techniques and perspectives, providing readers worldwide with a more profound and comprehensive understanding of the subject.
