Dixon Family History
William Dixon, son of Henry Dixon and Rose, was born in Ireland. He married Ann Gregg in about 1690. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Indiana.
Migration and Integration in a Post-Pandemic World
As the world emerges from the COVID-19 pandemic, this book explores current migration and integration challenges. Against the background of long-term migration trends, it asks whether the pandemic has changed the patterns observed, transformed the circumstances international migrants face at destination or whether the opportunities and challenges for integration have been altered. Twenty-four researchers have contributed to this volume with research attention on how COVID-19 has affected transnationalism and identity, labour market employment, and impacted the discrimination of migrants in a variety of ways. Loyalties and tensions created by the need to include also hesitant migrant groups in vaccination programmes are explored. The role of cosmopolitanism and welfare chauvinism in narratives on inward migrations flows, the stance of trade unions on migration, the complexities of implementing return policies, and the challenges faced by unaccompanied refugee youth from Afghanistan are also discussed.
Flanary Family, In-laws and Outlaws
John Flanary was born in about 1756. He lived in Virginia and North Carolina. He married Phoebe Boggs and they had at least eight children. He died in about 1842. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Virginia, Kentucky and Missouri.
Burrows and Beyond
John Burrows was born in 1744. He married Elizabeth Sarah Scott (1751-1797), daughter of Thomas Scott and Jannet Watson, 24 January 1769 in Charleston, South Carolina. They had seven children. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in South Carolina.
Pickin [sic] Up the Porters
John Walker (ca.1677-1734), son of John Walker, immigrated from Scotland to Chester County, Pennsylvania and married Katherine Rutherford. Descendants lived in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana and elsewhere.
Stone Works
W. Austin Stone was born 12 July 1748, probably in Virginia. His parents were Philip Stone and Margaret. He married Elizabeth and they had eleven children. He died in 1818 in Florence County, South Carolina. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in England, Virginia and South Carolina.
