This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 4th Software Quality Days Conference (SWQD) held in Vienna, Austria, in January 2012. The selection of presentations at the conference encompasses a mixture of practical presentations and scientific papers covering new research topics. The seven scientific full papers accepted for SWQD were each peer-reviewed by three or more reviewers and selected out of 18 high-quality submissions. Further, six short papers on promising research directions were also presented and included in order to spark discussions between researchers and practitioners. The papers are organized into topical sections on software product quality; software engineering processes; software process improvement; component-based architectures; risk management; and quality assurance and collaboration.
This groundbreaking book uniquely focuses on the exploration of the green synthesis of metal nanoparticles and their characterization and applications. Metal nanoparticles are the basic elements of nanotechnology as they are the primary source used in the design of nanostructured devices and materials. Nanomaterials can be manufactured either incidentally, with physical or chemical methods, or naturally; and the high demand for them has led to their large-scale production by various toxic solvents or high energy techniques. However, due to the growing awareness of environmental and safety issues, the use of clean, nontoxic and environment-friendly ways to synthesize metal nanoparticles has e...
Organizations of all types are consistently working on new initiatives, product lines, or implementation of new workflows as a way to remain competitive in the modern business environment. No matter the type of project at hand, employing the best methods for effective execution and timely completion of the task at hand is essential to project success. Project Management: Concepts, Methodologies, Tools, and Applications presents the latest research and practical solutions for managing every stage of the project lifecycle. Emphasizing emerging concepts, real-world examples, and authoritative research on managing project workflows and measuring project success in both private and public sectors, this multi-volume reference work is a critical addition to academic, government, and corporate libraries. It is designed for use by project coordinators and managers, business executives, researchers, and graduate-level students interested in putting research-based solutions into practice for effective project management.
Nanoemulsions are produced by mixing an oil phase with an aqueous phase under shear pressure. This procedure yields uniform populations of oil droplets ranging in diameter from 200 to 8 nm that are kinetically stable colloidal substances with enhanced properties compared to the conventional emulsion substances. Nanoemulsions have broad potential applications in agriculture, food, health, and biomedical sciences. The Handbook of Research on Nanoemulsion Applications in Agriculture, Food, Health, and Biomedical Sciences focuses on the aspects of nanoemulsion-like synthesis, characterization, and more and examines recent trends in their applications within a variety of relevant fields. Nanoemulsions have broad application in many different fields; without emulsification, process product development would not be possible. Covering topics such as cancer treatment, healthcare applications, and food manufacturing, this book is essential for scientists, doctors, researchers, post-graduate students, medical students, government officials, hospital directors, professors, and academicians.
Environmental and Technological Aspects of Redox Processes is a comprehensive guide to understanding the natural process of electrochemical oxidation/reduction and adsorption action in water treatment technology. The book examines the complexities of redox signaling at a cellular level and how it influences a wide range of biological processes, such as immune function, tissue repair, and cell development. With contributions from leading experts in the field, this book provides valuable insights and strategies for preventing the negative effects caused by oxidants, such as damage to living cells, DNA, proteins, and lipids. Through extensive research on electronic structure, thermodynamics, ki...

The three-volume set LNCS 12771-12773 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 13th International Conference on Cross-Cultural Design, CCD 2021, which was held as part of HCI International 2021 and took place virtually during July 24-29, 2021. The total of 1276 papers and 241 posters included in the 39 HCII 2021 proceedings volumes was carefully reviewed and selected from 5222 submissions. The papers included in the HCII-CCD volume set were organized in topical sections as follows: Part I: Cross-cultural experience design; cross-cultural product design; cultural differences and cross-cultural communication; Part II: Culture, arts and creativity; culture, learning and well-being; social change and social development; Part III: CCD in cultural heritage and tourism; CCD in autonomous vehicles and driving; CCD in virtual agents, robots and intelligent assistants.
Applications of Nanomaterials in Medical Procedures and Treatments is a primer to the industrial use of nanomaterials. It presents 8 chapters explaining the use of nanomaterials in clinical medicine. Basic to advanced concepts are explained with the guidance of specialists who present the principal techniques and methods to obtain high-performance polymers and composite materials. The book starts with chapters on new contrast agents that help in molecular imaging, followed by chapters on prosthetics and artificial tissues. The next 3 chapters cover the applications of nanomaterials in the treatment of cancer and eye infections. This includes a chapter on innovative bioceramics with anticancer properties. The concluding chapters focus on biomedical device regulators and processing techniques forThis book is a primary reference book for undergraduate and graduate students as well as professors involved in multidisciplinary research and teaching programs.
