WHO seeks to advance the development and deployment of new TB vaccines to prevent TB disease, with a focus on adolescents and adults in whom 90% of TB disease occurs. With new TB vaccines in the development phase, their effectiveness and the strategy for their integration will need to be determined in the context of in-country epidemiology and existing national TB control interventions.
