Es fasst die Ergebnisse einer Tagung von Bauforschern zusammen, die Ende 2014 in Prag stattgefunden hat und widmet sich den drei Hauptaspekten beim Umgang mit historischen Holzbauten: Bauforschung, Architekturgeschichte sowie Instandsetzung und Unterhalt. Vierzehn Forscher haben jahrhundertealte Holzstrukturen wie Kirchen, Bauernhöfe, Fachwerkhäuser und Blockhütten in Europa und Russland untersucht. Aus den gewonnenen Erkenntnissen entwickeln sie denkmalgerechte Maßnahmen zur Instandsetzung und zum Unterhalt von Holzbauten. The Borders of Europe
Just like national identities, European identity may be viewed as an imagined community, constituted by different levels of inclusion and exclusion along various border markers as those between included and excluded, between culturally dominating and dominated or between centre and periphery, natives and exiled. This book by researchers within the field of art and architecture, theatrical performance, literature and history, is an important contribution to the ongoing discussion of the borders of Europe, especially where large scale cultural borders towards the East are concerned. The Temple of Venus and Rome and Santa Francesca Romana at the Roman Forum
This book examines the influence of architectural design in the conservation of historic buildings by discussing in detail an important building complex in Rome: the Temple of Venus and Rome, the monastery of Santa Maria Nova and the church of Santa Francesca Romana. As the most complete site in the Roman Forum that has reached our times with a rich architectural stratification almost intact, it is a clear product of continuous preservation and transformation and it has not been studied in its complexity until now. The Temple of Venus and Rome and Santa Francesca Romana at the Roman Forum unravels the original designs and the subsequent interventions, including Giacomo Boni’s pioneering conservation of the monastery, carried out while excavating the Roman Forum in the early twentieth century. The projects are discussed in context to show their significance and the relationships between architects and patrons. Through its interdisciplinary focus on architectural design, conservation, archaeology, history and construction, this study is an ideal example for scholars, students and architects of how to carry out research in architectural conservation.

Designing Modern Norway: A History of Design Discourse is an intellectual history of design and its role in configuring the modern Norwegian nation state. Rather than a conventional national design history survey that focuses on designers and objects, this is an in-depth study of the ideologies, organizations, strategies and politics that combined might be said to have "designed" the modern nation's material and visual culture.
