The aim of the DANF conference was to present and discuss new theoretical and experimental results in the field of nuclear fission dynamics. The conference program was designed to cover a wide range of physical phenomena including spontaneous and induced fission at low and intermediate energies and fragmentation of hot nuclei. Among the topics discussed at the conference were: the development of various theories, experiments on the synthesis of superheavy elements, fusion-fission processes and the decay of complex nuclear systems, binary and ternary fission, nuclear structure of neutron-rich nuclei and the peculiarities of exotic nuclear reactions. Attention was also paid to the recent progress in developing radioactive ion beam facilities. The development of new methods was also on the conference agenda.

This book presents the latest results of experimental and theoretical studies of fission and fusion-fission dynamics from low to intermediate energies. It covers new results on the synthesis of superheavy elements and the decay of complex nuclear systems, binary and ternary fission, fragmentation, the decay of hot nuclei, and the nuclear structure of neutron-rich nuclei. It also discusses some questions concerning the incineration and transmutation of actinides from nuclear waste. Both experimental and theoretical issues are covered. The topics are discussed by a group of participants, and an overview of the current activities in the field is given.
Fission And Properties Of Neutron-rich Nuclei - Proceedings Of The Second International Conference
The Second International Conference on Fission and Properties of Neutron-Rich Nuclei continued the emphasis on fission models, fission processes, properties of neutron-rich nuclei and new directions. The responses to the conference were so extensive that 44 talks were presented in individual sessions and 35 more in two afternoons of parallel sessions. New insights and developments were discussed, including experimental and theoretical studies of ternary fission with correlated pairs with emission of a third nucleus such as helium-3, alpha particle, and beryllium-10; the structure of neutron-rich nuclei from spontaneous fission, heavy-ion-induced fission and knock-out reactions; comparisons of deep inelastic reactions and fission for production of neutron-rich nuclei; production of superheavy elements, including the discovery of element 114; experiments with radioactive beams; and proposals for new radioactive ion beam facilities.
International Symposium on Exotic Nuclei
This book is a collection of talks presented at the International Symposium on Exotic Nuclei, held at Lake Baikal, Russia, on 24 - 28 July 2001. The talks were given by the leading scientists in the physics of exotic nuclei.Among the topics of the Symposium were the following: production and study of properties of nuclei in extreme states, strongly deformed nuclei, highly excited nuclei and nuclei far from the line of stability as well as nuclei having large angular momenta.New results of investigations are presented in the book ? in particular, the data on new nuclei with proton or neutron haloes, on the changes in the shell structure of nuclei near the drip lines, and on the structure of exotic nuclei, including information on the island of inversion. The latest results on the synthesis of new superheavy elements are also provided, and existing detecting devices and accelerators of exotic nuclei, as well as future projects for the creation of similar set-ups, are presented.

This conference is the seventh in a series of topical meetings dealing with the nuclear fission process, mainly at low excitation energy. During these meetings, actual topics are discussed by a group of experts. These proceedings give an overview of the topics treated, and permit a rapid overview of the current activities in the field.

The International Conference Mesons and Light Nuclei, organized by the Institute of Nuclear Physics (INP), Rez, was held during July 2 - 7, 1995 in small north Bohemian town Straz pod Ralskem. It was the sixth in a series of meetings which took place previously at Liblice 74 and 81, Bechyne 85 and 88, and Prague 91. The conferences gained already their firm position among intermediate energy nuclear physics activities. ENAM 98
The proceedings of the conference on Exotic Nuclei and Atomic Masses (ENAM98) are the scientific contributions to the most recent meeting in a long series that dates back to the late 1950s. The conference is held every three years and the participants produce a complete review of the fields of exotic nuclei; atomic masses, moments and radii of nuclei; fission, synthesis of heavy elements, the role of radioactive nuclei in the cosmos, fundamental studies and use of radioactive ion beams. The proceedings provide an excellent overview and an up to date summary of recent developments in a field that is undergoing a rapid growth due to the advent of radioactive ion beams.
