Combinatorial Number Theory
This volume contains selected refereed papers based on lectures presented at the ‘Integers Conference 2007’, an international conference in combinatorial number theory that was held in Carrollton, Georgia in October 2007. The proceedings include contributions from many distinguished speakers, including George Andrews, Neil Hindman, Florian Luca, Carl Pomerance, Ken Ono and Igor E. Shparlinski. Technical Analysis And Financial Asset Forecasting: From Simple Tools To Advanced Techniques
Technical analysis is defined as the tracking and prediction of asset price movements using charts and graphs in combination with various mathematical and statistical methods. More precisely, it is the quantitative criteria used in predicting the relative strength of buying and selling forces within a market to determine what to buy, what to sell, and when to execute trades. This book introduces simple technical analysis tools like moving averages and Bollinger bands, and also advanced techniques such as wavelets and empirical mode decomposition. It first discusses some traditional tools in technical analysis, such as trend, trend Line, trend channel, Gann's Theory, moving averages, and Bollinger bands. It then introduces a recent indicator developed for stock market and two recent techniques used in the technical analysis field: wavelets and the empirical mode decomposition in financial time series. The book also discusses the theory to test the performance of the indicators and introduces the MATLAB Financial Toolbox, some of the functions/codes of which are used in our numerical experiments.
Analytic And Combinatorial Number Theory: The Legacy Of Ramanujan - Contributions In Honor Of Bruce C. Berndt
This volume reflects the contributions stemming from the conference Analytic and Combinatorial Number Theory: The Legacy of Ramanujan which took place at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign on June 6-9, 2019. The conference included 26 plenary talks, 71 contributed talks, and 170 participants. Anatomy of Integers
The book is mostly devoted to the study of the prime factors of integers, their size and their quantity, to good bounds on the number of integers with different properties (for example, those with only large prime factors) and to the distribution of divisors of integers in a given interval. In particular, various estimates concerning smooth numbers are developed. A large emphasis is put on the study of additive and multiplicative functions as well as various arithmetic functionssuch as the partition function. More specific topics include the Erdos-Kac Theorem, cyclotomic polynomials, combinatorial methods, quadratic forms, zeta functions, Dirichlet series and $L$-functions. All these create an intimate understanding of the properties of integers and lead to fascinating andunexpected consequences. Hong Kong Legal Principles
While there are publications on specific legal fields, no recent book includes several core legal subjects presented in a general manner. Resulting from this need for an updated work on the general principles of law in Hong Kong for use by non-law students and nonlegal professionals, the first edition of this book was published in 2006. After three printings, the latest in 2010, a new edition became necessary to reflect accurately the changes in the law since the first publication.
