This volume gives a detailed account of the current trends in the interface areas of medium and high energy nuclear physics. Special stress is given to topics like chiral models, relativistic models, hot nuclei, quark-gluon plasma and other reactions with non-nucleonic degrees of freedom. The articles present the state-of-the-art research in these areas and also suggest unsolved problems which will form the main thrust of future research work in nuclear physics.
With contributions from 24 international authorities, Synthetic Organic Photochemistry offers a leading-edge presentation of the most recent and in-demand applications of photochemical methodologies. Outlining a wide assortment of reaction types entailing cycloadditions, cyclizations, isomerizations, rearrangements, and other organic syntheses, thi
Contributed papers presented at the National Seminar on "Contemporary Nuclear Physics", held at the Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar.
An insightful analysis of confined chemical systems for theoretical and experimental scientists Chemical Reactivity in Confined Systems: Theory and Applications presents a theoretical basis for the molecular phenomena observed in confined spaces. The book highlights state-of-the-art theoretical and computational approaches, with a focus on obtaining physically relevant clarification of the subject to enable the reader to build an appreciation of underlying chemical principles. The book includes real-world examples of confined systems that highlight how the reactivity of atoms and molecules change upon encapsulation. Chapters include discussions on recent developments related to several host-...
This volume collects the papers presented at the “Specialists' Meeting on Nuclear Level Densities”, held in Bologna 15 - 17 November, 1989, which gathered most of the scientists working in the field. The papers cover all the major aspects of the level density problem both from the theoretical and the experimental viewpoint, including the subject of partial level densities. In particular, moment method, collective vector method, interacting boson model, static path approximation and combinatorial approach are discussed. Effects of the residual interactions and nuclear structure are also addressed, giving a state-of-art reveiw of our present knowledge on nuclear level densities.

Sucking pests are most notorious group of pests for agricultural crops. Unlike most pests with chewing mouth parts, sucking pests cause more severe damage to the crops and are complex to get identified until advanced stages of infection. Not only is this late detection detrimental to their effective control, sucking pests also often cause fungal growth and virus transmission. The book emphasizes on sucking pests of most major crops of India. It aims to reflect Indian scenario before the international readership. This book complies comprehensive information on sucking pests of crops and brings the attention of the readers to this multiple damage causing insect complex. The chapters are contributed by highly experienced Indigenous experts from Universities & ICAR institutes, and book collates useful content for students and young researchers in plant pathology, entomology and agriculture.
Specialist Periodical Reports provide systematic and detailed review coverage of progress in the major areas of chemical research. Written by experts in their specialist fields the series creates a unique service for the active research chemist, supplying regular critical in-depth accounts of progress in particular areas of chemistry. For over 80 years the Royal Society of Chemistry and its predecessor, the Chemical Society, have been publishing reports charting developments in chemistry, which originally took the form of Annual Reports. However, by 1967 the whole spectrum of chemistry could no longer be contained within one volume and the series Specialist Periodical Reports was born. The A...
