John and Anne (Woodburn) Nichol emigrated from Northern Ireland in 1789 settling first in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. They later moved to Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania and to Belmont County, Ohio, in about 1800. Descendants lived in Ohio, Kansas, South Dakota and elsewhere.
