El 31 de Agosto de 1941, Luis Roberto Altamira publicaba en el diario La Nación un trabajo de investigación sobre el «oratorio» del Obispo Mercadillo, con el título: La Casa del Obispo Mercadillo; allí presentaba algunas evidencias documentales sobre el supuesto oratorio que en realidad no fue ni oratorio, ni capilla del Manuel de Mercadillo, ni la de un cementerio o la entrada de catacumbas, ni la morada del prelado, aunque en ese lugar hubo con anterioridad una casa (casona – patio) que fue reformada y embellecida, en la cual fallece el obispo. Sin embargo sí llegará a ser alojamiento para los alumnos del Convictorio - Colegio Real Mon[t]serrat y Seminario de Santo Tomás de Aqui...

Saline and Alkaline Soils in Latin America
This book provides the first comprehensive overview of saline and alkaline soils in Latin America, known for having one of the most extensive surface of salt-affected soils in the world. It is organized along two main axes: soils and vegetation. The book discusses the occurrence of such soils in the region, focusing mainly in management strategies for their sustainable use, and it presents accounts of natural vegetation and crops in the various environments of the region. Social impacts of such conditions and ongoing projects to overcome them are considered. Likewise, the book highlights physiological mechanisms that are responsible for the negative effects these soils exert on crops and forest resources and determine vegetation distribution in them. Plant breeding challenges and new perspectives for such environments are discussed. Technologies such as irrigation and drainage are included. Laicidad and Religious Diversity in Latin America

Secularisms in a Postsecular Age?
This volume ethnographically explores the relation between secularities and religious subjectivities.As a consequence of the demise of secularization theory, we live in an interesting intellectual moment where the so-called ‘post-secular’ coexists with the secular, which in turn has become pluralized and historicized. This cohabitation of the secular and post-secular is revealed mainly through political dialectical processes that overshadow the subjective and inter-subjective dimensions of secularity, making it difficult to pinpoint concrete sites, agents, and objects of expression. Drawing on cases from South America, Africa, and Europe, contributors apply key insights from religious studies debates on the genealogies and formations of both religion and secularism. They explore the spaces, persons, and places in which these categories emerge and mutually constitute one another.
