Denison Genealogy, Ancestors and Descendants of Captain George Denison
George Denison (1620-1694) married Bridget Thompson (d.1643) in 1622, and emigrated from England to Roxbury, Massachusetts. After her death, he returned to England to serve in Cromwell's army there, was taken prisoner, later freed, and married Ann Borodell about 1645. He and his second wife then returned to Massachusetts, and shortly they moved to New London, Connecticut, and in 1658 to Stonington, Connecticut. Descendants and relatives lived in New England, New York, Michigan, Illinois, Virginia, Tennessee, Texas, California and elsewhere. Includes some ancestry and genealogical data in England to the early 1500s. The genealogical data contained in Baldwin and Clift's "The descendants of Captain George Denison" (1881) is is included in this book, as is also the genealogical data from various smaller works

Royal Families: Governor Thomas Dudley and descendants through five generations
Thomas Dudley was born in 1576 in Yardley-Hastings, Northampton, England. His parents were Roger Dudley and Susanna Thorne. He was a nineteenth generation descendant of William the Conqueror. He married Dorothy Yorke (1582-1643) 25 April 1603 in Hardingstone, Northampton. They had five children. They emigrated in 1630 and settled in Massachusetts where he was assistant governor and governor from 1630 to 1653. He married Katherine Deighton, daughter of John Deighton and Jane Bassett, 14 April 1644. They had three children. He died 31 July 1653 in Roxbury, Massachusetts. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire and New York.

John Congdon (ca. 1610-1646) was born in Pembrokeshire, Wales. He and his wife had three children, ca. 1636-1642 in Pembrokeshire. The family immigrated to America where he died in York County, Virginia. His son, Benjamin Congdon (ca. 1642-1718), married Elizabeth Albro (ca. 1650-1720) ca. 1670/1671 at Portsmouth, Newport County, Rhode Island. They had six children, ca. 1672-1686, born at Portsmouth and Kingstowne, Rhode Island. He died at North Kingstown, Rhode Island. Known descendants lived in Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, Vermont, Michigan and elsewhere.
The Descendants of Governor Thomas Welles of Connecticut and his Wife Alice Tomes, Volume 2, Part A
Thomas Welles (ca. 1590-1660), son of Robert and Alice Welles, was born in Stourton, Whichford, Warwickshire, England, and died in Wethersfield, Connecticut. He married (1) Alice Tomes (b. before 1593), daughter of John Tomes and Ellen (Gunne) Phelps, 1615 in Long Marston, Gloucestershire. She was born in Long Marston, and died before 1646 in Hartford, Connecticut. They had eight children. He married (2) Elizabeth (Deming) Foote (ca. 1595-1683) ca. 1646. She was the widow of Nathaniel Foote and the sister of John Deming. She had seven children from her previous marriage.
