A obra transita por inovações pedagógicas produzidas em Mestrados Profissionais em Educação de institutições de Ensino Superior públicas do Estado da Bahia, apresentando uma variedade de temas, abordagens, metodologias e proposições interventivas que atuam como mote inspirador para pesquisadores e pesquisadoras alçarem novos voos: INOVOOS. Assim, visa demonstrar que é possível inovar em educação, voando pelo desconhecido com êxito, a partir de posturas de problematização, planejamento, investigação e intervenção que envolvam a produção de conhecimento pautada de modo político com o coletivo. Os textos deste compósito apresentam proposições interventivas de profissionais da educação que ousaram tirar os pés do chão e voar no horizonte da novidade, a partir da produção de saberes implicados ética e socialmente e, por isso, produzidos no intercâmbio entre conhecimentos, sensibilidades, linguagens e experiências vinculadas à Educação Básica. Research Trends in Geographic Information Science
In June/July 2008 the Institute for Geoinformation and Cartography at the Vienna University of Technology organized a scientific colloquium in this city, where 15 well-known scientists presented their ideas on research for the upcoming decade. This book contains papers prepared by the participants as well as by other researchers. The eighteen papers in this book reflect the opinion of a core group of Geoinformation scientists about future research topics. Urban Transformations in the Late Antique West: Materials, Agents, and Models
This volume is the fruit of a highly productive international research gathering academic and professional (field- and museum) colleagues to discuss new results and approaches, recent finds and alternative theoretical assessments of the period of transition and transformation of classical towns in Late Antiquity. Experts from an array of modern countries attended and presented to help compare and contrast critically archaeologies of diverse regions and to debate the qualities of the archaeology and the current modes of study. While a number of papers inevitably focused on evidence available for both Spain and Portugal, we were delighted to have a spread of contributions that extended the picture to other territories in the Late Roman West and Mediterranean. The emphasis was very much on the images presented by archaeology (rescue and research works, recent and past), but textual data were also brought into play by various contributors.

A Journey Round My Room
In 1790, Xavier de Maistre was 27 years old, and a soldier in the army of the Sardinian Kingdom, which covered swathes of modern-day Northern Italy and Southern France. He was placed under house-arrest in Turin for fighting an illegal duel. It was during the 42 days of his confinement here that he wrote the manuscript that would become Voyage autour de ma chambre. Inspired by the works of Laurence Sterne, with their digressive and colloquial style, de Maistre decided to make the most of his sentence by recording an exploration of the room as a travel journal. de Maistre’s book imbues the tour of his chamber with great mythology and grand scale. As he wanders the few steps that it takes to circumnavigate the space, his mind spins off into the ether. It parodies the travel journals of the eighteenth-century (such as A Voyage Around the World by Louis de Bougainville, 1771), and could be read today as an early take on the modern vogue for “psychogeography” — each tiny thing that he encounters sends de Maistre into rhapsodies, and mundane journeys become magnificent voyages.
