Benjamin Meyer performs several psycho-physical experiments to measure the re-adaptation process of glared drivers in traffic scenarios. The author then develops a novel tone mapping algorithm to simulate the recurring contrast perception of the human eye by adjusting the displayed contrast. Depending on background illumination, bright light sources cause considerable perception restrictions for a glared viewer and can deter the driver from perceiving critical objects for several seconds and severely increase the risk of accidents. Based on the results of the conducted user studies, this vision impairment is integrated into a night driving simulator. The modified driving simulation provides a more realistic visualization and enables the analysis of critical traffic scenarios including short-time headlight glares. This leads to better transferability of driving simulator results and enables investigating driving behavior in the presence of glare.
The amount of load that can be borne by the different components of the lumbar region is fairly well understood, as are resulting injuries from overloading. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, “of the nearly 9.1 million passenger car, SUV, pickup and van crashes in 2010, only 2.1% involved a rollover. However, rollovers accounted for nearly 35% of all deaths from passenger vehicle crashes. In 2010 alone, more than 7,600 people died in rollover crashes.” Rollover accidents continue to be a leading contributor of vehicle deaths. While this continues to be true, it is pertinent to understand the entire crash process. Each stage of the accident provides valuable insight into the application of reconstruction methodologies. Es existieren bisher kaum Untersuchungen, die den Fokus auf die individuelle Perspektive der Akteure, insbesondere beim Lern- bzw. Aneignungsprozess neuer Technologien, legen. The immigrant ancestor, Nicholas Leyberger, was born ca. 1707 in Germany. He married 1727 in Brenschelbach Maria Catharina. He died in Frederick Co., Maryland. He had three sons. Two sons were born in Germany and settled in Bedford Co., Pennsylvania and the youngest son was born in Conewago, York Co., Pa. and he also settled in Bedford County. Descendants live in Pennsylvania, Indiana, Ohio, Kansas, Illinois, Minnesota, Michigan, Missouri, Colorado, Oregon, Oklahoma, Washington and elsewhere.
New data surrounding the procurement and modifications of arms produced by the national armories, and under federal contract procured by the individual states and by individual members of militias, is presented here for the first time. This information, interwoven with military, political, economic, and social factors, results in new and better definitions and a clearer understanding of the arms’ historical context. Though this work focuses on military flintlock shoulder arms, details on the federal government’s procurement of arms for Indians during rapidly changing military policies of the period is also included. American Military Shoulder Arms, Volume II, contains more than three hundred photographs. As with the previous volume, Volume II is written primarily for students of arms, but also contains material of interest to historians, museum specialists, collectors, and dealers of antique arms.
