The Decorated Bindings in Marsh's Library, Dublin
Among the many books in original bindings in Marsh's Library, Dublin, a surprisingly large number are in decorated blind- or gold-tooled, calf, pigskin or goatskin bindings, which date from the 15th to the 19th centuries. The bindings come from all over Europe, ranging from Ireland to eastern Europe. While most were made in England, some fine and interesting examples from Germany, Italy, France, Spain and Holland are also included. In this volume, leading scholar Mirjam Foot first gives an overview of how books were bound by hand and then describes the bindings by country of origin, within each section treating them chronologically and by type of decoration. The detailed descriptions of the bindings are illustrated with 52 black and white photos and 8 colour plates.
Studies in the History of Bookbinding
This text consists of articles on the history of bookbinding and related subjects, most of which have been published previously in a wide variety of places. Several articles have been updated and two have been substantially rewritten. They have been grouped under seven headings and range from general topics such as bookbinding as a subject for study and the need to preserve the book in all its aspects, to more detailed descriptions of binders, the binding trade, collectors and collections.

The History of Decorated Bookbinding in England
Based on the Lyell Lectures given by Howard Nixon at Oxford in 1979, this lavishly illustrated book traces the decorated binding in England from the earliest surviving example, the St Cuthbert Gospel dating from a little before the end of the seventh century, to the beginning of the Modern Movement in the late 1940s. This books emphasis is on fine binding in leather, with the styles and designs used for its decoration, and with the tools employed to effect these designs. This work is the first to trace comprehensively the development of this English tradition and bring together numerous illustrations of the superb bindings produced over the last eight centuries.

New Essays on the Apostolic Fathers
This volume comprises fifteen new essays on the Apostolic Fathers with a focus on 1 and 2 Clement. An introductory essay investigates the role of seventeenth-century librarians in the origination of the collection's title. Printing Anglo-Saxon from Parker to Hickes and Wanley
This book offers something new, a full-length study of printing Anglo-Saxon (Old English) from 1566 to 1705, combining analysis of content and form of production. It starts from the end-product and addresses the practical issues of providing for printing Anglo-Saxon authentically, and why this was done. The book tells a story that is largely Cambridge-orientated until Oxford made an impact, largely thanks to Franciscus Junius from Leiden. There is a catalogue of all books containing Anglo-Saxon, with full details of their use of manuscript or printed sources. This information allows us to see how knowledge of Anglo-Saxon grew and developed.
