The Staff Band, a brass band belonging to the Territorial Headquarters of the Salvation Army in Germany was first founded in 1910. The book is about the history of the German Staff Band. But not only that. The book also covers a small part of the beginnings of the largest brass band movement in Germany and the general development of Salvation Army brass band music in this country from its beginning towards the end of the 19th Century, the glory days of the 1920s and the difficult times after the First and Second World Wars with all the ensuing problems and hindrances for Salvation Army music there. It was not until 1989 that it again became possible to reestablish a Staff Band as a brass band at the Territorial Headquarters in Germany.
Brass Bands of the British Isles 1800-2018 - a historical directory
Of the many brass bands that have flourished in Britain and Ireland over the last 200 years very few have documented records covering their history. This directory is an attempt to collect together information about such bands and make it available to all. Over 19,600 bands are recorded here, with some 10,600 additional cross references for alternative or previous names. This volume supersedes the earlier “British Brass Bands – a Historical Directory” (2016) and includes some 1,400 bands from the island of Ireland. A separate work is in preparation covering brass bands beyond the British Isles. A separate appendix lists the brass bands in each county

Lobe den Herren - mit Blech
Die Stabsmusik, eine Brass Band des Territorialen Hauptquartiers der Heilsarmee in Deutschland, wurde 1910 und noch einmal nach dem Ersten Weltkrieg, 1925, gegründet. Sie existierte bis in die ersten Kriegsjahre des Zweiten Weltkrieges hinein. Erst 1989 gelang es, wieder ein Stabsmusikkorps als Brass Band des Territorialen Hauptquartiers in Deutschland zu gründen. 2014 konnte dieses Musikkorps auf eine 25jährige Existenz dankbar zurückblicken. Die Geschichte dieses Musikkorps, die Voraussetzungen, die Rahmenbedingungen einschließlich der Zeit von 1945 bis 1989 werden in diesem Buch ausführlich dargestellt. Das Buch beschreibt somit auch einen kleinen Teil der Entstehungsgeschichte der größten Brass Band Bewegung in Deutschland und der Geschichte der deutschen Heilsarmeemusik.

Lloyd’s Register of Yachts 1950
The Lloyd’s Register of Yachts was first issued in 1878, and was issued annually until 1980, except during the years 1916-18 and 1940-46. Two supplements containing additions and corrections were also issued annually. The Register contains the names, details and characters of Yachts classed by the Society, together with the particulars of other Yachts which are considered to be of interest, illustrates plates of the Flags of Yacht and Sailing Clubs, together with a List of Club Officers, an illustrated List of the Distinguishing Flags of Yachtsmen, a List of the Names and Addresses of Yacht Owners, and much other information. THE "LITTLE ICE AGE": LOCAL AND GLOBAL PERSPECTIVES P. D. JONES and K. R. BRIFFA Climatic Research Unit, University of East Anglia, Norwich, NR4 7TJ, UK. This volume of Climatic Change is devoted to the study of the climate of the last 1000 years, with a major emphasis on the last few centuries. The timespan encompasses what has been referred to as the "Little Ice Age" (Bradley, 1992). This term was originally coined by glaciologists, with reference to the most recent major glacial advance of the Holocene (Bradley and Jones, 1993). Although other such advances in different parts of the world may not have been synchronous, the term "Little Ice Age" has come to be associated with the period of a widespread foreward movement of European glaciers between about 14 50 to 1850, as well as with relatively cooler temperatures. The issue of whether or not this concept is appropriate, is a major theme of many of the papers included in this volume.

This volume is a revised and improved edition of the auction catalogue of Kierkegaard’s private library. The catalogue has long served as one of the most valuable tools in Kierkegaard studies and has been actively used by commentators, translators and researchers for tracing the various sources of Kierkegaard’s thought. With the catalogue in hand, one can determine with some degree of probability what books he read and what editions he used for his information about specific authors. The present volume represents the fourth printing of the catalogue, and it differs from its predecessors in many respects. The previous editions contained incomplete, erroneous and inconsistent bibliographical information about the works in the catalogue. The primary goal of the present edition was to obtain all of the books and check their title pages for the precise bibliographical information. The result is an accurate and reliable edition of the catalogue that conforms to the needs of Kierkegaard studies in the digital age.
