The two-volume set of LNCS 11941 and 11942 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 8th International Conference on Pattern Recognition and Machine Intelligence, PReMI 2019, held in Tezpur, India, in December 2019. In contrast to processes involving commodification, commercialisation, bureaucratisation and corporatisation, the SSE reasserts the place of ethics, social well-being and democratic decision-making in economic activities and governance. Identifying and analysing a myriad of issues and topics associated with the SSE, the Encyclopedia broadens the knowledge base of diverse actors of the SSE, including practitioners, activists and policymakers.
THE AWAKENING
Poetry is one of the creative art form which awakens us to our purpose in life. There are different forms of poetry created by poets across the globe. Each has its own beauty. Each awakens in us a different emotion. I have tried to encompass different forms of poetries and experimented with them in this compilation, this anthology of poetries “THE AWAKENING.” It is a bouquet of poesy of various forms from various countries, and also ranges from micro poetries to long odes , ballades and reverse poetries. Thus the reader can enjoy the various hues , and reflect on the nuances of life ,in our sojourn. It encompasses various emotions, seasons, feelings and is a perfect blend of spiritualism and materialism. Neural and Synaptic Defects in Autism Spectrum Disorders
Autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) are a group of genetically and clinically heterogeneous neurodevelopmental disorders characterized by impaired reciprocal social interactions and communication, and restricted and repetitive patterns of behaviors and interests. Studies in genetics, neurobiology and systems biology are providing insights into the pathogenesis of ASDs. Investigation of neural and synaptic defects in ASDs not only sheds light on the molecular and cellular mechanisms that govern the function of the central nervous system, but may lead to the discovery of potential therapeutic targets for autism and other cognitive disorders. Our Research Topic which constitutes this e-book documents the recent development and ideas in the study of pathogenesis and treatment of ASDs, with an emphasis on syndromic disorders such as fragile X and Rett syndromes. In addition, model systems and methodological approaches with translational relevance to autism are covered herein.
