The architect Andrea Palladio was a draughtsman and a designer, a mason and an engineer, an innovator and an image maker. His growing importance from the 16th century onwards was based on his profound expertise in architectural issues that went beyond singular tasks and situations, and beyond his particular moment in history. His way of thinking and solving architectural problems proved invaluable for centuries to come. Basics Timber Construction
Timber is one of the most elementary and oldest building materials used by mankind, and has still not lost any of its attractiveness and topicality. German Façade Design
German architecture prior to the modern period has received less systemic, analytical study than that of Italy, France, and Britain. Urban Design
In this basic textbook, prospective architects, urban and landscape planners receive assistance in working on urban development projects and designs. This edition has been expanded by two chapters on informal urban planning and regional urban development.
