This book is a collection of selected papers presented at the last Scientific Computing in Electrical Engineering (SCEE) Conference, held in Sinaia, Romania, in 2006. The series of SCEE conferences aims at addressing mathematical problems which have a relevance to industry, with an emphasis on modeling and numerical simulation of electronic circuits, electromagnetic fields but also coupled problems and general mathematical and computational methods.
The two volume set, CCIS 288 and 289, constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-conference proceedings of the First International Conference on Communications and Information Processing, ICCIP 2012, held in Aveiro, Portugal, in March 2012. Worldwide, the most important arboviruses are chikungunya, dengue, Japanese encephalitis, Mayaro, West Nile, Zika, and Ross River viruses. A significant public health threat is posed by these viruses around the world, which threaten more than 3.6 billion people. In recent decades, scientists have revealed many issues with arboviruses and established approaches, allowing us to fight the diseases more effectively. However, old and new problems continue to haunt us, motivating us to develop new approaches to fight these diseases. A growing number of arboviruses have been detected in different regions of the world, emphasizing the need to better understand how these viruses are transmitted and infect.
This book studies the Tangwang language, providing the first comprehensive grammar in English of this Chinese variety, with detailed analysis of its phonology, morphology, and syntax. This fills a gap in the literature, as previously only a few articles on this language were available. The book takes an interdisciplinary approach, examining genetic data to determine historical patterns of population migration, as well as linguistic data that focus on the influence of the Dongxiang (Santa) language as a consequence of language contact on the Silk Road. The concluding chapter argues that Tangwang has not yet become a mixed language, and that syntactic borrowing has a stronger impact than lexical borrowing on languages.
Since the reform and opening-up policy was implemented in China, consultations have been increasingly carried out during the policy-making process. The degree of access to the policy-making process varies, and consequently some experts influence the policy-making process significantly and others not.
